Darrell Allison, The American Federation for Children’s vice president of government affairs and state teams has been named chancellor of Fayetteville State University. He will replace Peggy Valentine, who has served as Interim Chancellor since July 2019.
José Luis Cruz, Executive Vice Chancellor and University Provost at the City University of New York, was named a finalist for President of Northern Arizona University.
Brian O. Hemphill, President of Radford University, has been named President of Old Dominion University. He will succeed John R. Broderick, who will be retiring.
The Rev. Joseph G. Marina, The Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Le Moyne College has been named President of the University of Scranton. He will succeed Rev. Scott R. Pilarz, who will step down this summer.
C. Andrew (Andy) McGadney, The Vice President and Dean of Student Aid at Colby College has been named President of Knox College. He will succeed Teresa Amott, who plans to step down in June.
Vann Newkirk Sr., Fisk University's interim president has been appointed to the position on a permanent basis. After Kevin Rom's departure, he became interim president in August 2020.
Amy C. Novak, President of Dakota Wesleyan University, will become President of St. Ambrose University in August.
Vincent D. Rougeau, The Dean of Law School at Boston College was named President of the College of the Holy Cross. He will succeed Rev. Philip L. Boroughs, who plans to step down in June.
Dennis Bailey-Fougnier, The President of Blue Mountain Community College in Oregon has resigned. He was diagnosed with cancer last year and decided to step down to focus on his health.
L. Randolph Lowry, The president of Lipscomb University since 2005 plans to step down this summer.
Eric J. Barron, President of Pennsylvania State University since 2014, plans to retire in June 2022.
Daniel A. DiBiasio, The president of Ohio Northern University since 2011 plans to retire on June 30, 2022.
Angeline Godwin, Patrick Henry Community College president plans to retire on July 1.
The Rev. Brian Linnane, The President of Loyola University Maryland since 2005 plans to retire at the end of the 2021-22 academic year.
Geraldine M. Perri, The first woman to serve as the superintendent / president of Citrus College plans to retire on July 1st.
Steven J. Scheinman, The President and Dean of the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine since 2012 plans to retire at the end of 2021.

Mary Catherine Bateson, the author of Compose in life (1989) and Professor Emeritus of Anthropology and English at George Mason University and visiting scholar at the Center on Aging & Work at Boston College, died January 2nd. She was 81 years old. Bateson was the only child of Margaret Mead and wrote about her parents in her memoirs Through a Daughter's Eye: A Memory of Margaret Mead and Gregory Bateson (1984).
Donald McCarty, A professor emeritus and former dean of the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin at Madison died on February 1. He was 99 years old. McCarty ran the school from 1966 to 1975.
Bryan Monroe, A professor in the Klein College of Media and Communications at Temple University died on January 13th. He was 55 years old.
Mike Yopp, A professor in the Hussman School of Journalism and Media at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill died on January 28. He was 79 years old.
